The Qualatex Event was way back in November 2011 but since then we have had a steady flow of orders on latex and foil balloon printing as well as Special Occasion Foils and 36″ latex. Over 500 price lists were given out at the event to both English and European decorators and wholesalers so it was no surprise when we started getting email from Denmark, Sweden, Italy and Malta about our balloon printing services. They seem to have the latex covered out there but struggle with the foil balloon printing and the different inks that are used together with the cleaners, retarders and bonders.

Our first major deal has come from IBS in Belgium and so far has taken over a week to complete the first part of the order  was for 18″ First Holy Communion foils with a single colour double side print. The next part of the order is for 36″ foils again with a double side print. We almost cleaned Pioneer Europe out and had to have the remaining foils shipped from HQ in America. In-between printing these foils the 36″ latex printing has been pretty non stop and once again I find myself doing the graveyard shift most evening and weekends just to keep the short lead times at bay.

Most Sundays you will find me sitting next to a lake or river, rod in had and relaxing but last Sunday saw me attend a Prom Fair at the Ricoh Arena Coventry. Although a prom is a very American affair it has taken off here and now seems to be the norm during the months of May and June. There was a fashion show for the dress companies so I took the opportunity to decorate the stage with the Qualatex Taper foils using bright and bold colours.

Each piece of decor consists on 18 Taper Swirls and can be constructed in about 20 minutes

Once the show is over I leave the decor in the room for whoever wants it.

Another rush order. 2 x 36″ latex with a single side print in 2 colours. The balloons were ordered for an exhibition stand at the Spring Fair which runs from the 5th – 9th February 2012 at the NEC Birmingham. The client requested that the balloons were place at about 5 meters above the stand to gain maximum exposure

All the balloons were treated with Ultra Hi-float for maximum float time as they need to last till Thursday

The 36″ latex balloon printing is going well and now receiving multiple order for single, 2 colour and 3 colour prints. 4 plus colours are also an option but the trade price list stops as 3 colour. Now there is nothing new about balloon drops, just turn up at the venue, rig and go, nice and simple. So that’s what I did. I turned up an the venue with a 250 drop ready to go in the van. As the venue was Butterworth Hall at Warwick University I just assumes a flyer would be lowered, attach the net and up it goes. Nope got that bit wrong. Lines were lowered from above but I had to secure the net from above, easy I hear you say. Well they say pictures say a thousand words…….

The entire ceiling is made of a steel wires in a grid formation. It's like walking on a springy mattress. ( Note, That's not me. I was holding on to the rail and took the picture )

I finally took the "Leap Of Faith". Awesome feeling as I walked from one end to the other.

It was far to cold for fishing this weekend so I decided to take part in the “East Meets West” Wedding Fair organised by Beau Events which took place at Stoneleigh Park. Not a bad turn out with plenty of brides to talk to. Gave out about 100 price list. My next wedding fair is on the 26th February at the Heart of England Event Centre.

BIG balloons give BIG impact and grab your attention. The order was received on Monday 9th January for 4 x 36″ latex balloons to be printed, inflated ,treated with Hi-float and delivery to the NEC  for and exhibition stand at the Auto Sport Show with runs from the 12th – 15th January 2012. The balloons were placed high above the stand and even thou it was still a build up day and no customers were at the show it still created quite a stir with other exhibitors much to the pleasure and satisfaction of Oxymat
