Monday 13th December and we have a late installation at Shebang in Daventry. Purple and silver foil star table bouquets for the call centre and two free-standing displays along the corridor
Tuesday 14th December and it’s the Thomson TUI UK Awards at the Chesford Grange hotel, Kenilworth. A giant megaloon arch decorated the plain wall opposite the main function room and 36″ gold foil stars gracefully floated hight above every table.
Wednesday 15th December. A more tranquil day today. Office bound with the rest of the crew prepping for the next 3 days ahead and Thursday, Friday and Saturday see a volume of orders pushing us to the very limit, Oh well it is Christmas .
Thursday 16th December. Before the weather turns for the worst is a quick dash over to Ricoh Arena and install 40 table bouquets in the Eon Lounge for Centrica and at the same time deliver all the table centre pieces for Pop Goes The 80s in the Jaguar Exhibition Hall
Friday 17th December. So I made an early start and arrive at the office at 7.30am, loaded the van and did the first drop at the NEC by 9.30am, a very simple job for Melville, 30 table bouquets of 3 x 20″ star foils. Headed back to the office to load up for eRicoh with 150 table centre pieces and headed of the the other side of Coventry. Took in a cheeky coffee at McDonalds and then it started to snow. Within 30 minutes 1.5 inchs had fallen onto freezing ground and everywhere was at a stand still so I quickly phoned back to the office and told them to get as much done as possible as I would be back ASAP. They could not understand what I was going on about, No snow here came the reply. The office is about 4 miles from Ricoh, they had no snow, we had lots. The picture below shows what the roads conditioner were like 4 miles away from the office.

Compact snow on the road outside Ricoh. The small incline was almost impossible from a standing start for most vans
The next stop was 300 pre-inflated balloons for University Hospital delivered to the Coventry Sports Centre
Saturday 18th December. We have survived and come through this week unscathed. The first 3 jobs were in and delivery by 12.00 noon then it was off to Ricoh for the final night of POP GOES THE 80s and balloon for 191 tables.
Now back at the office and prepping the next 3 jobs, two are local but one is Alcester and access is not untill 6pm. The snow is now falling heavy so if you don’t hear from me again can someone send a search party over Stratford way and look for a big silver van with my name on it.
Next week we have a heavy print schedule so watch this space.
